The Forest and the Ruins
Arriving at 'Moke Mofmo', the village is in a state of tension. The villagers, who went into the forest chasing after their abducted fellow villagers, haven't returned, so I decide to help them...

1. Head to the infirmary.
Entering Moke-Mofmo triggers an event. First, head north to the clinic.
Inside the clinic you’ll find a save point and a bed—remember this.
2-1. Enter the mayor's house.
Inspect the door of the Moke-Mofmo Chief’s House, immediately to the right of the clinic.
2-2. Investigate the windows of the mayor's house.
You can now inspect the adjacent window.
3. Enter the Forest of Beast Gods.
After the conversation, exit the building, turn left into Hemirie Forest, and speak to Carola.
Even if you try to proceed without talking to Carola, the story will advance.
4-1. Find a way to open the door.
Enter Beast God’s Forest 1, follow the path, and circle to the far shore.
4-2. Look for the lever of the switch.
Defeat the giant Myconid—it drops the Iron Lever, so be sure to pick it up.
Sometimes the dropped lever overlaps the fallen character, making it hard to see—be careful.
4-3. Activate the switch.
Return the way you came and operate the switch you find there.
Inspecting that switch a second time lets you recover the lever—this will be needed later.
5-1. Search for a way to enter the ruins.
5-2. Help the beastfolk Tuney.
Proceed forward to Forest of the Beast God 4, then go immediately right past the poison swamp.
Not required for story completion. If your HP is low, you cannot pass without taking damage unless you use the “Antitoxin Potion” (see below). No need to push on if you’re under-prepared.
If you’ve completed the side quest “Precious Magic Work Tool” and have an Antitoxin Potion, use it here.
Otherwise, exploit the fact that you’re immune to poison while jumping: build momentum, dash-attack sideways, and jump simultaneously to minimize damage. This technique also slightly boosts your normal movement speed—worth learning.
Open the chest to obtain the Beast God’s Forest Map, Shining Ore, and Miser’s Amulet.
Return across the poison swamp, then head immediately north into Forest of the Beast God 6.
You’ll immediately face three orcs in battle.
After defeating them, approach the fallen Beastfolk. If you defeat the last enemy right next to them, step away briefly and return to trigger the event.
5-3. Obtain the guiding glowstone.
Backtrack to the great gate at Forest of the Beast God 2, then proceed into Forest 3.
Enter the Forest Camp and speak to the traveling merchant Liane.
You need the Guiding Glowstone—either save up 1,200 gold to buy it, or repeatedly attack Liane until she becomes hostile and drops it upon defeat.
If you steal it, she will no longer sell items, so shop at Moke-Mofmo’s market afterward if needed.
5-4. Help the beastfolk Anitra.
From Forest 3’s north side, proceed into Forest 5.
On the right you’ll encounter one orc and one slime—defeat both.
Then speak to the fallen Beastfolk Anitra.
She asks you to visit the Chief’s House later—plan to return.
5-5. Speak to Dagny in the mayor's house.
Return north to Moke-Mofmo and speak to Dagny in the Chief’s House to receive the Beast God’s Key.
Go to Forest 2, inspect the great gate, and proceed.
There’s a save point here—use it.
Continue into the Deep Forest and use the Guiding Glowstone from your menu to activate the magic circle at the entrance.
Investigate the glowing circle to advance into the Beast God’s Ruins.
6-1. Explore the innermost chamber of the ruins.
If you ever wish to return, inspect the magic circle by the door.
Enter the far back right to reach Ruins 2.
Enter the “Chamber of Rest” on the right to face two orcs.
Defeating them unlocks a bed and save point—clear this room first. The bed may occasionally trigger an erotic event!
Proceed into Ruins 3 for a battle with four orcs. Because you get first strike, dash-attack them before they notice to deal heavy damage.
A door near the entrance opens—grab the map from the chest and flip the nearby switch.
If you recovered the Iron Lever in Forest 1, you can proceed without backtracking.
The “Secret Room” beyond is connected to the Beastfolk’s “room you can’t leave without sex.” [Link to article]
Return to Ruins 2 and enter the Chamber of Treasure on the left.
From the chest inside the left cage, obtain the Treasure Trove Key.
Defeat the four Myconids in this room to open the cage beyond the poison swamp. The chest inside holds a Shining Ore—needed later if you don’t already have one.
Ores also drop from scattered ore nodes, so you’re not strictly limited to this chest.
6-2. Help the beastfolk Raquel.
Return to Ruins 1 and enter the Dungeon Chamber at the left rear.
Advance to the back left—one enemy here drops the Key, so you may choose to kill just that one.
With the Special Cell Key, enter the Sturdy Cell nearby.
After speaking with Raquel and exiting, you’ll fight three orcs.
7-1. Obtain the sealed ring.
Exit the ruins and return to the forest, then go from Forest 3 → Forest 5 and inspect the yellow door to enter.
Six chests line the room:
- Top Left: Item - Treasure Chest Key
- Top Center: Item - Sturdy Wood
- Top Right: Trap - Slime Appears
- Bottom Left: Trap - Slime Appears
- Bottom Center: Empty - Nothing Inside
- Bottom Right: Empty - Nothing Inside
You only need the Treasure Chest Key, but pick up the Hard Wood while you’re here.
Exit and return to Forest 2, then Forest 4 → Forest 6. Inspect the yellow door to enter.
Open the chest to obtain the Yellow Sunstone.
7-2. Speak to Anitra in the workshop.
Leave the forest and return to Moke-Mofmo.
If you lack two Dull Ores or one Shining Ore, you must farm them in Resorshi Cave (east of Hemirie Forest 2). If your weapon is still a Wooden Axe, gather materials here first to upgrade at the workshop—and consider upgrading your armor to Leather.
Proceed east from Hemiere Forest 1 into Forest 2 to find Resolshi Cave.
Break ore nodes to collect two Dull Ores and one Shining Ore.
Plain nodes drop only Stone and Dull Ore. To get Shining Ore, break nodes with gray speckles or blue highlights. Leave and re-enter to respawn nodes and gather more.
In Moke-Mofmo’s easternmost workshop, speak to Anitra to receive the Seal Ring.
8. Enter the innermost chamber.
Return to the ruins and enter the room straight ahead, Chamber of Infinity.
Entering the great gate here triggers a boss fight—prepare accordingly.
9. Rescue the captured beastfolks in the innermost chamber.
Battle four orcs including the unique Eileen.
Defeating them revives Irene and summons three more orcs. Kukka arrives to assist, turning it into a 4-v-2 fight.
While Kukka draws aggro, stay back and fight separately; when most enemies target you, close in on Kukka to redistribute aggro.
10. Lock Eileen in the dungeon.
Defeat every enemy, lift Eileen, and inspect the Sturdy Cell to clear the main quest “The Forest and the Ruins.”
